Mill Creek StudiosThese beautiful sculpture pieces are carved in clay by skilled artists taking between a couple weeks and a couple of months. After the artist finishes their creation, skilled artisans take over and create a rubber mold. In this process the original clay piece is lost, leaving a mold with detail in fingerprint accuracy. The mold is then filled with a mixture of fine resin and pure white alabaster. This mixture goes through a chemical reaction when heated and expands into every crevice of the mold. The result is an exact duplicate of the original art. After being removed from the mold, each piece is revised and cleaned by hand preparing it to receive fine acrylics applied layer by layer by skilled artists.
